As part of the FACE IT project, Hungarian farmers and experts had the opportunity to participate in a professional visit to Italy between April 9–11, 2024. The aim of the visit was to explore innovative and sustainable approaches to organic farming in the Umbria region.
Participants visited four outstanding organic farms:
- Orto Sive Natura in Gualdo Cattaneo, where the hosts demonstrated agroecological farming methods,
- Microcosmo Farm in Perugia, which focuses on permaculture and ecological balance,
- Ariel Cooperative in Foligno, promoting inclusive and community-based agriculture,
- La terra è bassa, a regenerative farm working to restore soil health and biodiversity.
Beyond farm visits, the program also included professional discussions and a local wine-tasting event to strengthen intercultural exchange. The visit provided practical insights into regenerative farming and deepened cross-border cooperation.
This exchange of experience was a key milestone in the FACE IT project, enhancing environmental competencies and inspiring new sustainable practices for the Hungarian participants.
