The FACE IT project aims to help gardeners transition to sustainable farming. To ensure that our training program meets their real needs, we conducted a survey in Hungary and Italy to identify the most pressing challenges gardeners face.
What Did We Learn from Gardeners?
Marketing and Sales
Most respondents sell their products at local markets and have little experience with online marketing. However, many are interested in digital opportunities but don’t know where to start.
EU Funding and Grants
Although many have heard about EU funding opportunities, they find the application process too complex and often don’t attempt it due to administrative difficulties.
Sustainable Plant Protection
Chemical-free plant protection is gaining more attention, but many gardeners lack the knowledge to apply alternative methods safely and effectively.
Sustainable Farming Practices
While interest in sustainable farming is growing, many gardeners feel uncertain about transitioning because they don’t know the exact steps to take.
What Comes Next? Based on the survey results, we have developed a practical training program to help gardeners navigate these challenges. The course is free and available online!
